The color expressed by stainless steel depends on many factors, such as the type of steel and the satin or polishing method. At Foster, we select only the finest premium-grade stainless steels, specifically AISI 304 and AISI 316.
AISI 304 steel is a non-magnetic austenitic stainless steel, composed of 18% to 20% chromium and 8% to 11% nickel; in Italy, this steel is also known as "18-10 stainless steel."
AISI 316 steel is an austenitic stainless steel alloy composed of 16% to 18% chromium, 11% to 14% nickel, and 2% to 3% molybdenum. The presence of molybdenum ensures excellent corrosion resistance in all natural environments: water and rural, urban, and industrial atmospheres, even in the presence of moderate concentrations of chlorides and acids.
Foster steel stands out for its unique finish called Foster Brushed (Spazzolato Foster). This is achieved through a specialized treatment using vegetable fiber brushes that give the steel its signature extra-fine satin finish. This finish ensures low surface roughness, prioritizing hygiene and ease of cleaning.
The result of Foster's material selection and processing gives the steel a naturally brighter and longer-lasting color. Our wide range of stainless steel textures and finishes ensures you can always find your perfect color.
